Fire hydrant inspections

The Town will be carrying out fire hydrant inspections and repairs starting September 28. During this work, you may experience low water pressure or discoloured water. This temporary disturbance may occur at various times during the work and is usually short-lived. The inspections are expected to be completed by mid-October.

What to do if your water is discoloured

• Turn on a cold-water tap, preferably the bathtub faucet or, if unavailable, the kitchen faucet. Commercial properties should use any available cold-water tap.
• Let the cold water run until it becomes clear. The water can then be consumed safely.
• If your faucet has an aerator, it is recommended to remove it before flushing the water.

Important: Make sure the water is completely clear before doing laundry or using any water-operated appliance to avoid staining fabrics or damaging equipment.
